How Link-a-Ride Works

Link-a-Ride provides a door to door transport service for its members, We do not follow a set bus route and do not pick up from bus stops.

There is a small charge for each journey undertaken. Holders of a Link-a-Ride concessionary pass pay £1.50 per single journey. Link-a-Ride concessionary passes are obtained from Central Bedfordshire Council who subsidises the journey.

All our staff are CRB approved to allow work with elderly and vulnerable people and are trained in assisting people with disabilities.

All drivers undergo MIDAS driver training and have to complete 6-monthly driving assessments by Central Bedfordshire Council.

Link-a-Ride is run on a day to day basis by our manager, Colin Poulter, under the direction of the Trustees, who meet quarterly to discuss policy and future operations. A list of trustees is available on request.
