The Answers You Need
We are certain that you may have lots of questions to ask, hopefully we can answer some of them here, however, if not please call us and we will be more than happy to discuss your needs.
Q – CAN A FRIEND TRAVEL WITH ME?
A- Yes you can bring a friend/ carer with you on the bus. They will be charged the same rate as registered users.
Q – I’M BLIND, CAN MY DOG TRAVEL WITH ME?
A- Yes, your dog can travel free of charge.
Q – WILL MY WHEELCHAIR FIT ON YOUR BUS?
A- All our vehicles are adapted with tail lifts to accommodate a wheelchair. The driver will inspect and check your wheelchair on your first journey to ensure there are correct securing points.
Q – I HAVE DIFFICULTY WITH GETTING UP STEPS, WILL I BE ABLE TO USE THE BUS?
A- Yes, all our buses have tail lifts; the driver will assist you onto the bus.
Q- HOW OFTEN CAN I USE LINK-A-RIDE?
A- Once you have registered, you may use the service as often as you wish.
Q- WILL YOUR DRIVER HELP ME FROM MY DOOR TO THE BUS?
A- We are a door to door service. The driver will be happy to escort you to and from your door and make sure you are safely inside when returning home.
Q- WILL THE DRIVER BE ABLE TO HELP ME CARRY MY SHOPPING TO MY DOOR?
A- Yes, our drivers are happy to assist, we do ask, however, that you limit the number of bags to five if possible.
Q- DOES THE SERVICE RUN IN BAD WEATHER?
A- We keep a very close eye on the weather conditions and do a risk assessment before every journey. If for any reason it is unsafe to travel you will be contacted if we are not travelling that day. This mainly only happens with heavy snowfall and sharp frosts where the pavements and roads are dangerous.
