WELCOME TO LINK-A-RIDE
A local service for local people.
A door to door Community Transport service to assist people who are unable to use ordinary buses.
LINK-A-RIDE Community Transport has been operating in Central Bedfordshire for over 25 years delivering a bespoke door to door service. We provide transport for those who find it difficult to access public transport, through disability, permanent or temporary, illness, those who are elderly, frail and for those who live in remote rural locations.
Link-A-Ride is a non-profit making organisation, registered as a Charity under the Industrial Provident Societies act and is governed by its rules.
We rely on donations from parish councils and grant funding societies.
There is an annual membership of £10.00 and a small charge for journeys.
All our drivers hold a current Midas, first aid and safeguarding vulnerable adult’s certificates and are DRB cleared. They have a wealth of experience from backgrounds in the police force, NHS, teaching, and business management, ensuring that our clients are always in safe hands.
We have four fully accessible buses, accommodating two wheelchairs at any one time. All buses have low level steps and tail lifts. The buses are out everyday and we cover a very wide area within Bedfordshire, we do
not follow set bus routes, stop or pick up from bus stops only from your door to wherever you wish to go.
LINK-A-RIDE is run on a day to day basis by Manager Cheryl Coverdale, under the direction of the Trustees, who meet quarterly to discuss policy and future operations.
